GroninGAGA

“Improvisational arts have the function of focusing the attention of improvisers on their immediate context. The context of my work with its title GroninGAGA is a different sonic behavior. In our society we are faced with sonic rules, we have to be silent mostly, are not allowed to cry, shout or scream in a normal life context. We embrace anything that seems to be perfect, all the other sounds we create are out of our box: sick, weird, crazy.  GroninGAGA allows and invites to be seriously weird in all kinds of humanly produced sonic ways and sounds.
This performance takes place at four places in town, that naturally invite people to hang and feel welcomed and inspired by its own specific beauty. Places that work like natural balconies. Anyone feeling invited should be able to embrace the environment at these spots with melodies just found, with reciting a poem, creating stories, whistling, singing with the birds and the wind, sounding along with any beauty, any sense that reflects in the performers own individual way. All sounds are mostly welcome, there are no restrictions. Just reacting in any sonic way, feeling free in this way and enjoying all!”

About project 'Lucht'

The corona measures have hit the art sector enormously. Exhibitions and art grants have been canceled or postponed. It is an uncertain time for many artists. With the Lucht project, Kunstpunt Groningen wants to support artists and designers from the municipality of Groningen. 87 Groningen artists have received a stipend with which they have created new work, including Bernd Ihno Eilts. With a billboard exhibition from September 27 to October 17, we present all artists spread throughout the city of Groningen. View the work of the other artists here.
