Expo stand for Wonen & Co – De Beurs (2008), Martiniplaza, Groningen

Art commissions for companies

Client: Wonen&Co

In 2008, the Martiniplaza in Groningen served as the backdrop for a new Wonen & Co exhibition. At this third edition of the expo from Thursday 13 to Sunday 16 March, an attendee could find everything about living in the broadest sense of the word. The latest trends and ideas in interior design and furnishings. Plenty of colour, design and accessories. Attention to the housing market, DIY projects and construction. And many workshops, a great deal of practical advice and demonstrations. The central theme of the Wonen & Co 2008 expo was: Temptation. The Wonen & Co expo was organised by GO! events and communications, part of Hazewinkel Pers BV, and commissioned by the Dagblad van het Noorden.

The art commission

Jauke van den Brink’s stand demonstrated a simple, effective presentation. The stand was surrounded on two sides by a black curtain and a hedge of vertically positioned fluorescent tubes. In front of them were tables displaying the work of the designers. Directly opposite this display was a long table with the models on it and the designers behind them providing explanations. On the floor there was a carpet of artificial grass, a playing field on which the young talent could get to work.
