Since 2017 I have been walking along the coast for several months a year, taking pictures of the landscape in front of and next to me. The horizon in the center of the image, the water on the right and the land on the left. These photos are the basis for the paintings

I am both a photographer and a painter. After my training as a classical painter at Minerva Academy, I graduated as a photographer at the second-phase training of the Frank Mohr Institute. There I started making still lifes that look like landscapes. After making a photo book about the Pieterpad, I started photographing and painting the Dutch coast and then the Wadden coast. In 2022 I reached Spain.

From a distance, the paintings themselves appear to be almost photographs, but when you come closer, you see that they are actually quite basic and abstracted images. The shapes are sleek, the brushstrokes clearly visible.
