I’m from a Frysian family. The vivid imagination I had as a child got put at the back burner as I grew older. As a medical student I started to miss that creativity. I decided to make the switch to Fine Arts at Academy Minerva, from which I graduated in 2019. I’ve had exhibitions in Galerie Block C, TAC Eindhoven and Gallery Sign+, amongst other places. In the spring of 2022 I’ve delivered my first commissioned work to the Provincial Council of Groningen (Provinciehuis, Martinikerkhof 12, Groningen).

Through spatial installations and artist books I research my identity and position in the world. Language and text are core elements in this process; the right choice of words can make all the difference. Because of this precision you could describe my practice as ‘playing in dead seriousness’: the existential questions I carry with me become part of a role play, performed by my work.
