Margriet van Weenen (1983) The Netherlands. Studied BA Visual Arts Academie Minerva and MFA Advanced Painting at the Frank Mohr institute lives and works in Groningen. 

Margriet van Weenen works within the field of artistic research with a wide range of media and uses photography and the existing as a starting point. The artist creates projects around a theme which results in installations. Time and travel, experiencing nature and observing landscapes, play an important role in her work. She is fascinated by raw, rough, and cold landscapes — nature in which you do not encounter culture.  She aims to tell the story of the changing landscape and our role as humans in it.
