Jorn van Til

Design, Painting, Spatial work, Illustration, Artist book

Jorn van Til, a Dutch artist, initially pursued illustration but later developed a fascination for painting. Captivated by space, color, contrast, composition, and simplicity. He is known for his near-perfectionistic approach to his work and strives for what he calls ''museaal werk'', aiming to present his work in a museum-worthy way.

While working on new paintings, Jorn is trying to use a realistic image such as a self-made photo, and translate it into an abstract image using blocks and lines. In this way, he tries to activate the audience to explore his paintings through a fascination with color and shape. This is visible in various of his paintings. Jorn is therefore often working on paintings involving everyday shapes within architecture and nature using photography.
