Biography

Herman's work shows an imaginative and lively world full of cheerful and playful figures. Almost everything in the work is alive: from dancing palm trees to smiling rain clouds.

From 2008 to 2014 Herman studied at the Minerva art academy in Groningen. In addition to graphic, he also makes drawings, collages, films, ceramics, installations and does performances. Herman also did a lot of graphic at the art academy. His favorite graphic technique is the drypoint etching. This technique enhances the expressive character of his work, so that it looks as if the figures jump out of the work!
