After graduating from her teacher training course as an arts and crafts teacher, Carmen has been working as a singer, actress and television presenter for nearly twenty years. In 1997 she rediscovered her first love: painting.

She mostly uses acrylic paint on canvas. Her work is clearly figurative, but never merely aims to depict teh real world around us. It's inner visions that she is interested in. A desire for beauty and harmony, looking for the "source", yet acknowledging chaos.

From 1998 onwards, Carmen's painings have been on regular display in art galleries across Holland and Denmark.
