Bea van Twillert lives and works in Usquert on the Hogeland of Groningen. She stays in Sweden several times a year. Both in the vast countryside of Groningen and in the rougher Scandinavia she experiences the peace and space that can be found in her paintings.

In her themes the house and portrait are usually central. The composition is created while painting and the colours are mixed on canvas. Her work is colourful, but not intense. Usually placed in a space of silence and harmony in a combination of abstraction and figuration.
