Water – Light (Water – Licht – 2 elements)
Loes Heebink, Carlo Kroon
About this artwork.
The blue and mint-green-coloured conical 'beacons' are located at the transition from water to land and on the border of the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe. One of the cone shapes balances on its point and sprays water. The other one is illuminated in the dark by a neon rainbow. During the day, one might be reminded of ice cream cones when viewing the sculptures. In the evening, however, the experiential value of the artwork is completely different: the 'earthly' sound of falling water from one sculpture finds its counterpart in the 'cosmic' neon light of the other sculpture.
