About this artwork.

At first one sees a blue tube that functions as a fountain. On closer inspection, the wavy line of the tube forms the profile of a face. When the fountain starts spraying, the picture becomes complete: the water is the waving hair of a head tilting slightly backwards. Bas Lugthart uses the unusual materials wind, water and gravity as sculpting tools. Or rather for drawing, as the sculpture gets its shape mainly through the lines in the flat surface.
