About this artwork.
The artwork was presented to the city council of Groningen by the Royal Dutch Heath Society on 17 September 1965, to celebrate the completion of the athletics centre. The sculpture is over six metres tall and constructed of metal on a stone pedestal. Three curved rods are attached to a straight rod, which is raised at various angles, and these cross each other. The top of the sculpture is a flat round shape. Due to its location near the athletics track, the piece evokes associations with a dynamic human figure.
