Sitting Woman (Zittende vrouw)
Frans Kokshoorn
About this artwork.
Sitting on a granite bench, overlooking the square in the park at Koopmansplein – the shopping heart of Ten Boer – you will find an abstract female figure. She’s resting on her hands, leaning back slightly. From her torso to her legs, the sculpture is rectangular and open, connecting the sculpture to its surroundings. The double bench she sits on is an invitation to passers-by to sit down for a while and take in the surroundings.
Frans Kokshoorn commissioned this work of art from the municipality of Ten Boer as part of the redesign of the space around Koopmansplein, which was intended to transform this square into the heart of the village.
