Commemorative Stone in the Pavement, with Poem by Rutger Kopland (gedenksteen in plaveisel met gedicht van Rutger Kopland)
Rutger Kopland
About this artwork.
To celebrate the centenary of the Typografengasthuis in 2003, Rutger Kopland composed the poem Court (Hof), which was then set in stone and laid in the pavement near the courtyard complex, with graphic design by Sjoerd Huizinga. He chose to use the ‘Hollandse Mediaeval’ font that was designed by Sjoerd de Roos in 1912. The memorial stone was unveiled on 6th September, 2003 by the then mayor Jacques Wallage.
The work was commissioned by Stichting Vereniging van Eigenaren Typografengasthuis."
