About Silvio Zangarini

Silvio Zangarini (Turin, 1981) graduated in aesthetic philosophy from the University of Turin. During his studies he started working as a photographer, delving into the concept of reality on an intellectual and visual level.

He has a strong preference for architecture and interior design. This is also reflected in the series Stunning Staircases, of which Experimentarium, Copenhagen is a part.

This series is an experiment with architectural interiors in which stairs play a leading role. They are surreal images, without top and bottom, in which the boundary between real and fake blurs. For the series he combines digital and analogue photography techniques. Each and every one of them produces intriguing photos that amaze, astonish and invite you to dive into the visual depths.

About the display window

The display window of the former Vapiano building on Nieuwe Markt has been temporarily designated as a pop-up art rental service in 2024. Every two weeks, a piece by a Groningen artist will be featured in the center window. This artwork is also available for purchase or rent through Kunstpunt’s art rental service.

Additionally, the window alternately shows work from the regular Art Rental Collection and the Studio Collection – art that comes directly from the studios of northern artists.
