Workshop: Enameling, by Ans van Diepen

About this activity.

In this short, one-day workshop you will experiment in a small group and work with different techniques of enamelling.

Enameling is the melting of powders composed of glass and dyes onto materials such as copper and silver. The transparent, shiny effect of enamel makes jewelry shine. And with the unprecedented color possibilities of enamel, every piece of jewelry becomes a wearable work of art!

In this workshop you will use different techniques to enamel, such as stenciling and cloisonné. By working with contrasting colors and templates you can create interesting designs (templating). And with copper wires you demarcate surfaces on an object that you then fill in with different colors of enamel (cloisonné).

Basic materials such as copper and powders are of course included in the course price. If you want to work with silver, a surcharge will be charged.
