Eli Dijkers

When the River Runs Dry is a fascinating retrospective on the work of photographer Eli Dijkers. This exhibition offers a great opportunity to discover the striking photography and multimedia presentations of a talented photographer in Groningen.

Dijkers, born in Assen in 1978 and raised in Groningen, explores the delicate balance between reality and artistic expression in his work. His compositions invite contemplation and reveal the beauty in the everyday. Each image is carefully composed to intrigue and touch the viewer.

Dijkers' work receives international recognition and has previously been shown at various venues, including Kunsthal Rotterdam, a duo exhibition in Shanghai in collaboration with the Dutch Consulate and as the official cultural event of the G20 summit in Matera, Italy, alongside the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson. When The River Runs Dry is his first solo exhibition in Groningen.

Bringing visitors on a journey through Dijkers' visual stories, the exhibition demonstrates the power of photography as a means of expression. We show a selection from several series. Change is a recurring theme.

Galerie Noord.

Galerie Noord is een expositieruimte in hartje Groningen. Vierwekelijks bieden we kunstenaars uit het Noorden de mogelijkheid recent werk te tonen, solo of in kleine groepen. Galerie Noord richt zich op autonoom, experimenteel en onderzoekend werk in vrijwel alle disciplines. We willen bezoekers verrassen door tentoonstellingen te bieden met een wisselend karakter. 
 
Galerie Noord wordt volledig gerund door vrijwilligers. In 1997 werd de galerie opgericht als kunstenaarsinitiatief.
