About this activity.

Since 1996, Museum De Buitenplaats has focused on figurative art. However, over the past years, the museum has evolved into an institution that dares to venture beyond the figurative. The emphasis has increasingly shifted to contemporary drawing. This makes the current collection a colorful and diverse ensemble.

With donations, acquisitions, and bequests, "Tijdsbeeld" looks back on acquisitions since 2013. Over fifty paintings, sculptures, and drawings show how the boundaries of figuration within the museum's collection are constantly being pushed. The exhibition features works by artists such as Richard Bolhuis, Paul van der Eerden, Arno Kramer, Hans Lemmen, Harro Nikkels, Charlotte Schleiffert, Elisabeth Varga, and Henk Visch. The upper floor of the museum pavilion is dedicated to artist Wout Muller, where a special bequest from 2017 serves as the starting point.

Museum De Buitenplaats.

Museum De Buitenplaats is er voor iedereen: van bezoekers met liefde voor kunst, tuinen, muziek, theater en literatuur tot liefhebbers van historische en moderne architectuur. Collectie en tuin vertegenwoordigen gezamenlijk Museum De Buitenplaats. Figuratie vormt de kern van de collectie. Museum De Buitenplaats streeft naar een samenhang in programmering die drie aandachtspunten van het complex weergeeft: (1) de figuratieve kunst in de meest brede zin van het woord, (2) de tuin in al haar seizoenen in combinatie met het Nijsinghhuis, (3) de podiumkunsten en literatuur. Museum De Buitenplaats wil door zijn vier seizoenenprogrammering jong en oud bewust maken van de rol van kunst, natuur en architectuur in de samenleving en ze inspireren tot vrij en autonoom denken.
