DOLF VERLINDEN

THE SKY AND THE SEA

Dolf Verlinden (Schiedam, 1960) graduated from Academie Minerva in Groningen in 1984. Since then, he lives and works here, his large studio with a fine light is located in the middle of the city center.

Off Hook is very pleased to be able to show his work.

In his lively compositions, Dolf Verlinden explores space both within the frame and outside it. Lines, grids and geometric patterns divide the image and seem to want to unbound her. Borders and edges of the artwork are therefore up for discussion. Also characteristic in the work are contrasts between open and closed forms and the solid and transparent areas of color in which each work exists by the grace of the former.

Dolf Verlinden recently showed his work at Museum Eicas in Deventer, Art Gallery NATIONAL 55 in Antwerp and at the Groninger Museum. His work is in various private, museum and corporate collections.

Especially for this exhibition a new silkscreen by Dolf Verlinden will be produced in collaboration with Zeefdruk Atelier Hogeland in Warffum.

OFF HOOK.

OFF HOOK is an artist run space for contemporary art and exhibitions. It’s located at the corner of a former chemistry laboratory in Groningen, the Netherlands.

OFF HOOK is founded by Dutch artist Lydia Wierenga, with the goal to invite artists to “do what they want”.

OFF HOOK will also present screen-prints in limited editions and “a little something on the side”.
