The Rolling Stones – Unzipped is the first ever international exhibition by and about the world-famous rock band. Through 400 original objects from the Stones’ personal archive, it offers visitors an exciting glimpse behind the scenes. Along with instruments and stage designs, the show includes rare video footage, personal diaries, iconic costumes and album covers. Highlights include reconstructions of the the band’s studio and modest flat in London’s Edith Grove and a spectacular Dolby surround experience of their 2016 concert in Cuba.

Unzipped is open until 21 January 2024 at the Groninger Museum. This is the final stop on the exhibition’s tour, so don’t miss out!

Mede door een gift van 25 miljoen gulden van de Nederlandse Gasunie kon het Groninger Museum gerealiseerd worden. In 1994 werd het museum geopend door koningin Beatrix. Het museumgebouw geldt als één van de hoogtepunten van het postmodernisme. De uitgangspunten van de architect Mendini waren: geen hiërarchie in de kunstdisciplines, overvloedig gebruik van decoraties en samenwerken met gastontwerpers. Hierdoor ontstond een divers samenspel van ruimtes. In deze ruimtes wordt aandacht besteed aan vier uiteenlopende collecties: archeologie en geschiedenis van Groningen, kunstnijverheid, oude beeldende kunst en hedendaagse kunst.
