Johan Rumpt presents mask figures and the book The Mask Figures, published in November 2024
This book, The Mask-Figures emerged from the collaboration between the artist Johan Rumpt and the art historian Katalin Herzog. For more than 25 years they have been discussing art in general and Rumpt’s work in particular. This resulted in 10 texts, the last of which about the artist’s masks is included in this book. Initiatiefnemers Marinus Augustijn en Agnes Scholte organiseren elk jaar 5 solo-exposities. Liefde en enthousiasme voor het werk vormen de belangrijkste selectiecriteria. Elke expositie wordt begeleid door een poster ontworpen en uitgevoerd door Hansje van Halem of Michiel Schuurman. De kunstruimte is gevestigd in het centrum van Groningen in een mooie, stille ruimte aan de achterzijde van een oud ijspakhuis.
