Exhibition: Women of De Buitenplaats

About this activity.

In continuation of the summer presentation, Museum De Buitenplaats focuses entirely on female artists. With the exhibition Vrouwen van De Buitenplaats (Women of De Buitenplaats), female key figures in the museum's history take center stage. Artists such as Olga Wiese (1944) and Clary Mastenbroek (1947) are highlighted for their mural paintings in the adjacent Nijsinghhuis.

In addition, artists Trudy Kramer, Dorothé van Driel, and Tamara Muller have each played a significant role in De Buitenplaats and its founders in their own unique ways. Women of De Buitenplaats sheds light on the diverse working methods and influences of these female artists through dozens of paintings, drawings, glass objects, and sculptures from the museum's own collection and beyond. The sculpture garden features works by Lotta Blokker, Dorothé van Driel, Charlotte van Pallandt, Jet Schep, and Elizabeth Varga during the exhibition.

In Drents Museum De Buitenplaats is er voor iedereen wat te ontdekken!

Drents Museum De Buitenplaats in Eelde is weer open! Onder een nieuwe naam en met een nieuwe koers. Vanaf 2024 is Drents Museum De Buitenplaats volwaardig onderdeel van het Drents Museum in Assen. In het vernieuwde museum krijgt de kust uit de art nouveau de hoofdrol, met als uitgangspunt de collectie kunst rond 1900 van het Drents Museum. 

Het ensemble De Buitenplaats omvat het 20ste-eeuwse museumpaviljoen en vaste tuin én het 17de-eeuwse Nijsinghhuis met muurschilderingen van de Noordelijke Figuratieven. Het Drentse Landschap is eigenaar van het ensemble en draagt zorg voor het beheer.
