SPOREN van EXPRESSIONISME (Traces of Expressionism) in K38

Art Center/Kunstencentrum K38 was first opened in October 2014. After a long tradition of organizing exhibitions by the CKR (Cultural Circle Roden) and Verkuno (Association of professional artists and designers in Noordenveld) at the Coach House of the Havezate Mensinge, with the cooperation of the Municipality of Noordenveld, they moved to the old school 'De Haven' on Kanaalstraat in Roden.

This marked the birth of Art Center K38, and from that moment on, new exhibitions were organized. Now, we are celebrating our second lustrum. This is a great opportunity to go all out with a beautiful program, a very special exhibition, and many engaging activities.

"Traces of Expressionism"

an exhibition about Expressionism in Northern Netherlands.

This exhibition follows the traces of Expressionism, an art movement that originated in Germany around 1920 and spread to Northern Netherlands. Here, the development of Expressionism is displayed, featuring works from its early days to the present. Even today, contemporary artists are still inspired by this modernist movement, which expresses a certain distortion of reality.

In the Art Shop during the exhibition, a short, continuous slideshow titled "What is Expressionism?" can be viewed beforehand.

September 27 at 4:00 PM Festive opening of the Youth Exhibition for and by the students of Ronerborg – by our K38 chairman – Geert Wolters. With a DJ providing musical accompaniment.

September 27 at 8:00 PM Opening of the exhibition "Traces of Expressionism" by Mayor Klaas Smid, with an introduction on Expressionism by Suzanne Rus, curator of the Drents Museum, and music by the Serenade Sisters.
