Pottery Weekend: Create Functional Veggie-Inspired Ceramics
About this activity.
Can you throw a paprika out of clay? In this Two-Day Throwing Workshop at VRIJDAG, we’re going to find out! You’ll work on creating vegetables from clay — or, if you prefer, something functional. A little bowl for your cherries, a dish for your apple, or for the more experienced throwers, maybe even a tagine.
We’ll explore various throwing techniques, such as closing a cylinder — which forms the base for shaping your own vegetable object. You’ll also learn how to throw a small bowl: a functional piece designed for your veggies!
On the second day (Sunday, April 13), we’ll trim, refine, and decorate your thrown pieces so you can head home with a finished creation. If you can center and throw a cylinder, this workshop is made for you!
Note: This workshop takes place on Sunday, April 6 and Sunday, April 13, from 10:00 to 15:30.
