‘SURFACE AND DEPTH’ – the new Verkuno exhibition at Kunstencentrum K38

The opening will take place on Friday, March 7, at 8:00 PM, by Jelte Hielkema. He is a diver and will have plenty to share about depth. Everyone is warmly welcome!

"In the brain or in nature, in art or in literature,
violent as a volcanic eruption
or gentle as a poetic reflection.
From high to low: diving from great heights, from low to high: treasure hunting.
A few millimeters deep: teenage acne, to many meters deep: mining.
From surface to depth can be represented in vastly different ways.
How deep do these artists go?"

Four Verkuno members and six national guest artists have explored this theme. The result is highly varied, with unique interpretations and techniques.

Photography and paintings. Metal, wood, plastic, and glass. Flat and spatial. Abstract and figurative. Even figuratively: diving deep into memories.

Ida is a visual artist, ritual designer, and community artist.
