Now on Display at the Nieuwe Markt: Art by Christine van der Cingel

The pop-up window gallery of the Art Rental on Nieuwe Markt will feature the work of a different artist from Groningen every two weeks. Christine van der Cingel is the sixth in this series.
Christine van der Cingel (1966) graduated in ‘free painting’ from the Minerva Academy and makes oil paintings. Her subjects are usually views and cityscapes, dancers, swimmers, portraits and in recent years especially animals.
Her painting Geit ('Goat') will be on display from 25 July-7 August in the central window of the gallery. The artwork is also available for loan or purchase through Kunstuitleen. Read more about the artwork and the artist here.
About the window gallery
The window of the former Vapiano building on Nieuwe Markt has a temporary role in 2024 as a pop-up art rental service. In addition to the rotating display of work by a Groningen artist, the window also showcases pieces from Kunstuitleen’s regular art collection and the Studio Collection – art sourced directly from the studios of northern artists – as well as videos of the artists' work processes.
