About this activity.
Kitty Blüm (1968) explores in her paintings and drawings the connection between nature and the inner landscape that every person carries within them. Her work is therefore not so much a realistic representation of the environment but a highly personal translation of emotions and moods. She uses detailed shapes and powerful colors to transfer these onto paper, panel or canvas. By using various techniques, she manages to effectively capture the interaction between nature and human emotions.
In her non-permanent installations in public space she draws attention to the complex relationship between people and the environment.
She also works on behalf of various nature organizations and offers drawing and painting workshops to share her passion for the power of art with others.
Sander van der Bij's work can be seen in the middle window of the shop window from February 20. The work can also be borrowed or purchased through the Kunstuitleen. Read more about the artwork and the artist here.
About the window gallery
The window of the former Vapiano building on Nieuwe Markt has a temporary role as a pop-up art rental service. In addition to the rotating display of work by a Groningen artist, the window also showcases pieces from Kunstuitleen’s regular art collection and the Studio Collection – art sourced directly from the studios of northern artists – as well as videos of the artists' work processes.
