About this activity.

Bernard Divendal chooses a intuitif-formal approoche for his oil-paintings, wich leads to abstract images. Clarety and structure in color and form have essential importance. The vieuwer is invited to, possibly by association, seek his own way through the images. In the proces of painting there is also room for adventure and for drastic interventions to get it right. Sometimes longafter the painting seamed to be completed.

The paintings in this exposition are a selection of the last four years. Common caracteritic is the standing, and almost square format, although of different sizes. Except for the paintings there is work on paper: complex, but clear drawings in oilpastel. Other than on the paintings the presence of colour is limited to the lines. They define the contours of the shapes.
