Jan de Boer in KEIK

In 2013, at Boterdiep 63 in Groningen, the AAS-Groningen architectural firm built a
corporate building set up. At the moment there are about 20 companies with all kinds of disciplines.

The front part is reserved for small meetings, the counter, the coffee machine and exhibitions.
KEIK has been set up for these exhibitions under the wings of AAS.

You can immediately recognize wall objects by Jan de Boer, not because of the same technique or material, but because
the method is consistent.

Planes, lines and shapes are combined in a lengthy process of deliberation,
add and omit.
The ultimate goal is always to find a unique harmony as in an atonal piece of music, in which dissonances play an important role.

The viewer experiences this search in each work.
The image is ready when it is right,
Speaks for itself and comes apart from its maker.

In principle, all materials are available to him.
He borrows shapes from the recognizable world.
Abstraction and figuration enter into a surprising coherence.
The painter and sculptor can be seen in the wall objects.

The exhibition runs from March 31 to September 22, 2023.
Open on working days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed from July 31 to August 29.
