The Life Vein Project
What is stored in our minds? What resides there in terms of memories, feelings, and emotions? How does time influence these? How do the elderly and the young experience the present, and how do they view the future? These are questions Wia van Dijk explores. The passage of time and its perception is a central theme in her visual art, culminating in the Life Vein Project.

Speleo
Through the LAP Foundation, Van Dijk investigates these questions by engaging in individual conversations with both the elderly and the young. She collects color data that represents their experiences across decades. This color data is then transformed in her studio into tangible color strands, forming the installation Speleo in Block C.

Contributors to the Life Veins project (2024) include:

• Students of VO Parcival College, Groningen

Kunstruimte Galerie Block C.

Initiatiefnemers Marinus Augustijn en Agnes Scholte organiseren elk jaar 5 solo-exposities. Liefde en enthousiasme voor het werk vormen de belangrijkste selectiecriteria. Elke expositie wordt begeleid door een poster ontworpen en uitgevoerd door Hansje van Halem of Michiel Schuurman. De kunstruimte is gevestigd in het centrum van Groningen in een mooie, stille ruimte aan de achterzijde van een oud ijspakhuis.
