Grasland Ezinge - Trudy Oosterhuis x Strovlechtwerk

About this activity.

In her project 53°18'41.8"N 6°26'11.6"E, Trudy Oosterhuis deals with old-fashioned agricultural methods and makes connections between land cultivation, plant materials and geographical history. Oosterhuis connects the current landscape with the old landscape from the 8th and 9th centuries. On 20 July, the old landscape will emerge through the scything of the grass, in collaboration with Stichting Lanschapsbeheer. After that, she will make monumental weaving sculptures of the grass.

 

Saturday 27 July & Sunday 28 July, 12.00 - 17.00 uur
Strovlechtwerk sessions - During these sessions you can weave and plait the grass, with the guidance of Strovlechtwerk, and you’ll contribute to a rural work of art, with lunch made by food artist Suzanne Bernhardt.

53°18'41.8"N 6°26'11.6"E is part of the project GRASLAND EZINGE, an initiative of artist Koos Buist in collaboration with SIGN. During their research last year, the participating artists did a lot of explorations in Ezinge and the surrounding area, which were accompanied by short residencies.

 

The results of two of these work periods, by duo Suzanne Bernhardt and Philipp Kolmann and by Trudy Oosterhuis, can be seen this summer (27 July to 31 August) with presentations and activities at Grassland!

SIGN.

SIGN is een levendige en experimentele projectruimte voor actuele interdisciplinaire kunst op nationaal niveau. Zij biedt jonge kunstenaars een podium voor verdere profilering, ontwikkeling en intensivering van hun kunstenaarschap. Daarbij wordt nieuw werk geïnitieerd in bijzondere contexten en wordt de nodige reflectie gegeven. Presentaties zijn er in SIGN, op allerlei locaties, en in openbare ruimte met een variatie aan omstandigheden, invalshoeken, disciplines.

SIGN wordt ondersteund door Mondriaan Fonds Kunstpodium Basis 2021-2022 en ook voor de periode 2023-2024
