Frank Hutchison – book presentation 'Nevertheless'

On February 11, 2024 at 4 p.m. the official book presentation of Frank Hutchison's publication entitled Nevertheless will take place in Galerie - Kunsthandel Peter ter Braak.

A selection of the paintings from the book can be seen in the gallery. 'Nevertheless' was published in collaboration with publisher Van Spijk Art Books and contains a representative selection of Hutchison's paintings from the past thirty years. The texts in the book were written by author Kees Verbeek and writer Stan Petrusa.

Hutchison comments on things so that we look at them differently. He works with painterly genres, such as the landscape, the portrait, the object to which he gives a unique interpretation. In addition, he speaks out about current social themes in his work. Frank Hutchison considers himself a committed painter, but one of the subtle kind.

Stan Petrusa, former director of the Stedelijk Museum Kampen, wrote a reflection on the landscape for Nevertheless. During the opening he will enter into a dialogue with the artist about his book, his visual work and his landscape paintings in particular, in which Hutchison, subtly but recognisably, reflects on the world around us.
