Festival Hongerige Wolf
About this activity.
Festival Hongerige Wolf
Earthy. Wide.
Festival Hongerige Wolf is a friendly festival with surprising performances and works of art around the microscopic village of Hungry Wolf. Wander through the unknown landscape and discover the raw beauty of new music, performances and special installations. And above all, be surprised by everything you encounter along the way in the beautiful grain landscape.
Music on the Schapenveld, theater on the Wadden dike, dance in blooming residents' gardens and films in the open air. In addition, a special exhibition will take place in the Ambonezenbosje with the title VOOR HANDEN ('FOR HANDS'). All works of art on this art route, curated by Louwe Noordhoff, were made exclusively with materials that were present in the Ambonezenbosje itself. Right down to the nameplates, no strings, no nails.
Last year, artists Susanne Luurs, Merijn Vrij, Jon Metz and Louwe Noordhoff took up this challenge. This year, all artists participating have Moluccan roots, due to the history of the location. The Ambonezenbosje stands on the foundations of barracks where repatriated Moluccans were taken in 1953 and stayed for 10 years. With material available, the artists entered into their relationship with history.
