''Much of Jacob van der Veen's work consists of residues of painting processes: large canvases taken from stretcher bars, which are presented in a way other than as paintings, prints on paper of paintings on linen, etc. In the Porter's Lodge, minimalist compositions of (almost) empty oil paint tubes are shown. The work refers to both the 'Arte Povera' and 'Zero'.
