About this activity.

Between 1974 and 2023, herman de vries published artist books from his home in Eschenau under the name eschenau summer press publications. About one-third of these are his own work, and for the other editions, he invited artist friends to contribute. They were given complete creative freedom. All 77 editions are on display at Block C, and as a visitor, you can actually handle and browse through some of them. RKD conservators Lynne van Rhijn and Ton Geerts created a beautiful book that provides an overview of all the editions.

Kunstruimte Galerie Block C.

Initiatiefnemers Marinus Augustijn en Agnes Scholte organiseren elk jaar 5 solo-exposities. Liefde en enthousiasme voor het werk vormen de belangrijkste selectiecriteria. Elke expositie wordt begeleid door een poster ontworpen en uitgevoerd door Hansje van Halem of Michiel Schuurman. De kunstruimte is gevestigd in het centrum van Groningen in een mooie, stille ruimte aan de achterzijde van een oud ijspakhuis.
