Cut in Mid-Air

About this activity.

Since 13 October at Kunstlievend Genootschap Pictura you can see the Exhibition Cut in Mid-Air with works from eminent artists from Cologne, Germany.
The exhibition is part of an exchange between Groningen- and Cologne-based artists.

Earlier this year Groningen-based artists led by Wim Bosch and Martijn Schuppers went to the German city for a group exhibition with the title Vice Versa, in Kunstwerk Köln, a great studio- and exhibitioncomplex. The return visit brings nine Cologne-based artists to Pictura. Together they fill the whole building of Pictura at Martinikerkhof with an exciting exhibition full of a diversity of works: objects, collages, paintings, light- and video-art.

Het Kunstlievend Genootschap Pictura in Groningen werd opgericht in 1832 met als doel: 'de beeldende kunst en de nijverheidskunst in de ruimste zin van het woord aan te moedigen en te bevorderen.' Pictura is gehuisvest in een mooi, monumentaal pand aan het Martinikerkhof in Groningen. In de sfeervolle zalen exposeren professionele kunstenaars van uiteenlopende richtingen en disciplines, maar de hoofdmoot is figuratief.
