Cold Outside

About this activity.

Outside it is cold, inside it is pleasantly warm. That is the theme of the group exhibition this winter of 2023. The works of the artists in the exhibition bring you the nice fresh feeling of a cold winter day or night where your breath immediately freezes, or the cozy feeling of a warm living room.

Anne van As is a permanent artist of the gallery. This time she shows a large installation of her ongoing series of small landscape paintings. It is a selection of works from the period 2015 to the present, which offers a nice overview of this series.

Anne Mensinga exhibits for the first time at gallery with tsjalling. She graduated from the Klassieke Academie in 2021 with paintings of windows. In the meantime, she remains faithful to this theme, but the focus is less and less on the representation of reality and more and more on the abstract composition that the window makes.

Sara van Vliet is currently following the painting master at the Frank Mohr Institute. Her paintings of interiors stand out because of the use of materials. With plaster or medium she forms thick blobs of paint on the canvas in which she applies the simple, almost cartoonish images.
